TaskCentre is very effective at handling report automation, but there are some traps along the way.
A customer who recently migrated TaskCentre from a 32-bit server to a shiny new Windows 2008 R2 (64-bit) server could not get their Crystal Reports to run (in TaskCentre), even though they had faithfully reproduced the required System DSN's, correctly named. Frustrating to say the least.
On a 64-bit Windows system, when you go to Data Sources under Admin Programs it manages the 64-bit DSN's which the TaskCentre Crystal Runtime doesn't see. You need to create the System DSN's as 32-bit. There is a separate app for that in %systemdrive%\Windows\SysWoW64 folder called Odbcad32.exe.
