By now, it is easy to assume we have all heard the Jeff Bezos “Day 1” philosophy, (original Day 1 letter linked for reference), that continues to drive the mission to this day.  The philosophy centers on the fact that you should always be innovating, reinvent, remain agile, never settle, etc., in business (or life).

Holiday Season: Do you believe?

Tricia Cate

by Tricia Cate on Dec 28, 2017 10:13:35 AM

As most of us do during the holiday season, I have been reflecting on how I am of service not only in my personal life, but my professional one as well. Not just during the holidays or as an aside to my normal business duties, but in everything I do.

One thing I have heard consistently in my career is, "You are so passionate about what you do." It is a very true statement. I have been offering automation to businesses for over 20 years. It started with fax and shipping automation, then alerts and report distribution and has evolved into full Business Process Automation and integration.

I am not just trying to sell software licenses, I am genuinely motivated to help customers be more efficient. This is how you are spending your days; your time is to be treasured. You work hard to make your businesses successful, but are you working effectively? Are you working as a team or are your staff and technology disconnected? Where are you experiencing pain? What is your vision of success? It's not my job to tell you about my solution. It is my job ... no, my priveledge ... to ask questions, listen and then use my experience to try to help you be more efficient.

Often times the gratitude is immeasurable for simply being interested, because I truly am. I often suggest that business processes always be present in customers' minds and to write down their struggles and how they would like to resolve them, even if they don't know how (yet). I suggest the same to you and that you take that list to your technology partner who can help you with the "how".

So if I had a holiday wish, it would be for you to believe. Believe in processes. Spend time thinking about your processes, you are the experts at what you do. Being a connected, streamlined business is not a pipe dream, it can be a reality. It will save you time and money. It will make you more successful. Most of all, it will make your team's days better.

All of us here at Fisher Technology wish each of you and your families a wonderful holiday season.

In part 1 and part 2 of this blog series, we discussed the process of executing an integration project between an ERP and an eCommerce store and how it differentiated from a CRM and Marketing Automation integration. The point of this series is to emphasize that Integration projects differ by software, company and business processes and specialist integrations such as with Concur, ZenDesk or TrackTraceRx are unique integration projects in and of themselves.

Businesses typically follow procedures to manage and respond to certain activities. These procedures are often fulfilled by the combination of manual processes and management software such as enterprise resource planning (ERP) and customer relationship management (CRM). Though, these methods have their own forms of functionality they are often missing key components that would make certain processes more automated and less manual.

As a business evolves it creates common practices or process to standardize how it carries out day to day activities. Over time, these companies implement software systems such as ERP to manage many aspects of their business. Even with these systems in place they find that they have many manual processes that are inefficient, time consuming and costly to the organization. However, many people are unaware or do not fully understand what business process management is and if they should invest in automating their current process.
