Even though we’re a little over a week into November and breast cancer awareness month has come to a close, we still believe it’s important to give acknowledgement to this cause year round and deliver unrelenting support to those in need beyond just one specified month out of the year.
At the end of October, we had the opportunity to attend the the BizOne conference in Indianapolis. It’s the perfect event for networking and gaining insight into digital technology trends as well as the latest solutions from other partners.
During the Conference, Nicole Laurier, handed out phone grips to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer. These grips were designed by Nicole's sister Amanda Turofsky- a breast cancer survivor and advocate. Her story can be found here.
Nicole met with countless individuals during the event, kind enough to share their experiences on how breast cancer has impacted their lives and those around them.
Nicole said “Every time I handed out a phone grip, I heard another story about a mother, a wife, a sister, an aunt, a best friend, a co-worker, all of whom had breast Cancer. Some were survivors, some were still battling and some sadly had lost their fight. People had tears in their eyes as they shared their stories with me, and others showed me goosebumps as I shared my sisters journey. These shared conversations were moving and inspirational."
As a family business, Fisher Technology supports charities that are relevant to our teams personal lives and that are aligned to our values, which is why we seek ways to raise funds to fight this disease and have decided to keep our website pink for a few more weeks.
Even if you are not directly impacted by breast cancer, there’s a good chance that you know someone who knows someone going through it. We encourage you in joining us to help fund life changing research and crucial services for those in need. You can donate to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation below.
