Turkey carving comes early this year as we cheerfully wish our friends to the north a joyous Canadian Thanksgiving.
Similarly, to the US version, this day is dedicated to spending time with friends and family, feasting, and upholding religious traditions. However, there are a few variations that make the Canadian Thanksgiving slightly different than what you might typically expect.
Celebrated 6 weeks earlier, Thanksgiving in Canada is observed on the second Monday of October each year although some citizens may choose to feast in the days leading up to it. Unlike the US, Canadian Thanksgiving isn’t celebrated nationwide. It’s an official statutory holiday throughout the country with the exception of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.
One might opt-in to watching the Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest Thanksgiving Day Parade and feast on provincial delicacies such as a Newfoundlander Jiggs’ dinner or Ontarian butter tarts, served with in season side dishes presented in a distinctive Canadian manner.
We immensely appreciate the endless support from our Canadian customers and partners. Here at Fisher Technology we're eternally thankful. From our humble beginnings, we branched out into a thriving North American business, which now serves as a foundation for partnered growth and home to a multitude of personable souls working together to achieve a common goal. More than anything, we’d like to give thanks to you for allowing us to come to work every day and give it our all.
Regardless of how you celebrate and who you celebrate with, we wish you a happy and healthy day filled with blessings.
